Ambardi Lion Interpretation Park
Newly opened Lion Interpretation Park at Ambardi in Dhari. This interpretation zone will develop eco-tourism on Ahmedabad-Bhavnagar-Rajkot-Amreli-Dhari-Una-Tulsishyam-Diu route. Tourists will now have an opportunity to enjoy the view of lions at Ambardi safari park.
The park at Ambardi is located 6 km away from the Resort and is a part of protected forests. In addition it is situated near the Khodiyar dam with the river Shetrunji flowing through it. Ambardi Lion Interpretation Park has developed across an area of 1000 acres. The lions are here in a closed but natural environment also inhabited by other animals and birds.

Tulsishyam : 52 KM
Tulsishyam is temple of lord Krishna. Since lord Krishna is black (Shyam) that is why the name is Tulsishyam. It is a pilgrim place, located in the Gir forest. The Prime attraction is the medicinal hot water spring. The water is curative for people suffering from gout and rheumatism. Temples dedicated to Bhim and Kunti, and a Krishna Temple are the other attractions.
Tulsi Shyam Temple is a tourist center that is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Situated in the Una sub-district of the Junagadh District, the temple is found in the center of Gir and lies about 30 km from the Una Town. Known peculiarly for its great scenic beauty, the temple has beautiful hot water springs which are referred to as ‘Taptodak’ in the Puranas. Legend says that Lord Shri Krishna killed the demon named Tul and hence the place is associated with his name along with the name of Krishna as Shyama and is hence called the Tulsi Shyam Temple. This temple is believed to be seven hundred years old. In order to reach here, you need to climb 100 steep steps to the top.
Kankai : 52 Km
At Kankai there is a shrine to Kankai Mata, the benefactor of the shepherds of Gir forest. A supremely wild place, here you can hear lions roar at night and animals gathering at the nearby river. The high temple walls ensure your safety, and once night falls, you can watch the stars through the jungle treetops, hear lions roaming outside and experience a night in the true wilderness.
In the heart of the jungle, 52 km from the Resort, there is a shrine to Kankai Mata, the benefactor of the shepherds of Gir forest. A supremely wild place, here you can hear lions roar at night and animals gathering at the nearby lake. The Forest Department allows devotees; no more than 50 at a time for the night stay.
Junagadh: 82 KM
Junagadh located at the foot of the sacred Girnar hills. Literally translated, Junagadh means "Old Fort". Junagadh was the capital of the Junagadh State under the Muslim rulers of Babi Nawabs. Junagadh has a zoo named Sakkarbaug Zoological Garden known as Sakkarbaug Zoo established in 1863 in the area of around 200 hectares. The zoo provides purebred Asiatic lions for the Indian and the international endangered species captive breeding program for the critically endangered species. Junagadh Buddhist Cave Groups, with their intricately carved gateways, Chaitya halls, sculptured pillars and sanctums are classic examples of rock cut architectural style at Upper Kot.
Few places offer you the chance to probe the earth and the heavens, the human and the wild, as Junagadh does. Towering over the city is Mt. Girnar, a holy site for Hindus and Jains that is climbed by a 9999-step staircase along peaks studded by temples that reach for the sky and look out across the plains. Walking up these stairs in pilgrimage is a unique experience of striving towards the heavens. Back at the base of the mountain, however, deep in the heart of the oldest quarter of the city, you can walk down into the depths of the earth in a pair of ancient stepwells.
Diu: 100 KM
A beautiful blend of sea, sand and sun, Diu is a God's gift to those in quest of a blessed land where the weary weight of this unintelligible world can, for a while, be lightened and the waking soul can hear the music of the nature. This tiny island of breeze, beauty and serenity situated off the southern tip of the Saurashtra (Kathiawad) peninsula of Gujarat, lapped by the Arabian Sea, is a picture of calmness with superb beaches and a fascinating history. The Nagoa beach and offshore lighthouse are popular tourist destinations, and the coast is a popular recreational area for parasailing, boating, and jet skiing. Unlike in Gujarat State, alcohol is legal in Diu.
Daman and Diu are the two tiny union territories which were the Portuguese enclaves. Geographically, Daman and Diu are the part of the state of Gujarat and connected to the mainland of Gujarat by a causeway. Diu is a tiny island in the Arabian Sea, about 11 kms. long and 3 kms. wide, separated from the coast by a narrow channel running through the swamp and two tiny mainland enclaves. It is very difficult to reach here so one has to travel through the town of UNA.
Palitana: 103 KM
Palitana is associated with Jain legends and history. Adinatha, the first of the Jain tirthankaras, is said to have meditated on the Shatrunjaya hill, where the Palitana temples were later constructed. Palitana is the world’s only mountain that has more than 900 temples.The Palitana temples and Whole Mountain are considered the most sacred pilgrimage place (tirtha) by the Jain community, and is the world's largest Temple Complex. There are more than 3000 temples located on the Shatrunjaya hills,exquisitely carved in marble. The main temple on top of the hill is dedicated to the first Tirthankara Rishabhanatha (Rishabhadeva). On the top the Shatrunjai Hill is a cluster ofJain temples, built by generations of Jains over a period of 900 years.
The climb up Shatrunjaya is no doubt the primary activity of a Palitana visit, for Jains and non-Jains alike. The hill is 3 kms from Palitana proper, and the 600 m climb over 3000 stairs to the top of the mountain is an unforgettable experience. Beginning at dawn is recommended, to avoid the mid-day heat. Frequent rest stops to visit temples along the way also help avoid overheating. Many devotees even gather at the highest temples before sunrise, having climbed in the predawn twilight.
Somnath: 142 KM
Somnath temple is one of Jyotirlinga of well known 12 Jyotirlinga. This temple is situated in Veraval, close proximity of beautiful beach of Arabian Sea. This is one of the most ancient temple of Gujarat and with its beautiful structure and historical importance this temple is a center of attraction of shrines. Destroyed and reconstructed several times in the past, the present temple was reconstructed in Chaulukya style of Hindu temple architecture and completed in May 1951. he principal temple of Somnath is believed to have been built in gold by the moon god Soma, in silver by the sun god Ravi, in wood by Krishna and in stone by the Solanki Rajputs in the 11th century. The present temple, built in 1951, is the seventh reconstruction on the original site. Tales of its riches attracted a series of invasions, but each time the temple was invaded, it was restored to its original glory by devout Hindu worshipers.
